BenchMaster
End-to-end work order platform for FFL holders — ATF-compliant, FastBound-integrated, built for gunsmiths who can't afford a compliance miss.
BenchMaster is a work order management platform purpose-built for Federal Firearms License holders. The problem it solves is unglamorous: running a gun shop on paper is a compliance liability waiting to happen. The software replaces that paper trail with an end-to-end system that handles intake, work order tracking, customer communication, payments, and regulatory filing from a single place.
The work
- Custom software development across the full platform — work order lifecycle, status workflows, priority escalation, and due date tracking
- ATF compliance automation via real-time FastBound API integration, keeping A&D book entries in sync across multiple licenses without manual entry
- ETL pipelines moving acquisition and disposition data between BenchMaster and FastBound with audit trails built for SOC 2 readiness
- Custom label and barcoding system: DataMatrix label generation and Zebra ZPL thermal printer support, so every firearm on the bench has a scannable tag from intake through pickup
- Multi-license architecture supporting shops with more than one FFL — each license gets its own A&D record, one dashboard
- Customer-facing portal with real-time status, before/after photos, and integrated payment processing — no customer login required
Why this one is on the list
Compliance software in a regulated industry is a different category of responsibility than a marketing site or a reporting dashboard. A missed disposition entry or a mismatched serial number is an ATF audit problem. The software has to be correct, not just functional. Building for that constraint — tight FastBound sync, airtight audit trails, barcoding that survives a busy Friday afternoon — is the kind of work that doesn’t show up in a demo but is the entire reason the product exists.
