STACC
From-scratch testing and certification platform for a public safety CTE credentialing body, FERPA/WCAG compliant, with payment integrations, LMS integrations, billing, and custom employee workflows. Graphic design and print included.
www.staccexams.comSTACC is a purpose-built credentialing portal for a certification body that issues public safety credentials to students in CTE (Career and Technical Education) programs. The whole system was written from scratch to fit a regulatory environment that off-the-shelf LMS products don’t handle well.
The work
- Full platform design and development, built to satisfy FERPA, WCAG 2.1 AA, and the specific compliance requirements of a credentialing body handling student records
- Complex payment integrations supporting exam registration, retakes, and credential issuance
- LMS integrations connecting the platform to the instructional side of member programs
- Integrated billing and quoting system for institutional customers; program coordinators can get quotes, approve orders, and track invoices without leaving the portal
- Custom employee-facing workflows covering exam scheduling, score reporting, credential issuance, and exception handling
- Built-in customer support desk for student and coordinator inquiries, tied directly to account records
- Graphic design for all branded touchpoints: logo, promotional materials, apparel, and print collateral for the credentialing body and its member programs
Why this one is on the list
Public safety credentialing sits at an intersection of regulatory pressure, institutional procurement, and student-facing UX; all three have to work without compromise. Building a compliant, accessible platform that also makes sense to a 17-year-old taking an exam and a district coordinator managing fifty students at once is a different kind of challenge than most software projects. This one covers the full stack from database to print shop.
